Managed IT and cyber security pricing for Sydney businesses
LOOKUP charges a fixed monthly fee per user. Managed Services is $125 per user per month, and every client adds one cyber security plan from $85 per user — so most businesses start at $210 per user per month. Minimum five users. No lock-in contract.
Every tool we use to deliver those services is included in that figure. Monitoring, ticketing, documentation, asset management, security software, backup, training platforms — all of it. No per-ticket charges and no hourly rates for incident response.
Two months to change your mind
Changing IT provider is the decision most businesses put off longest, usually because the last switch went badly. So we've removed the risk: for the first two months after onboarding, you can walk away. If we haven't shown you the difference by then, you shouldn't be stuck with us.
There's no minimum contract either. You can engage LOOKUP month to month and stay because the service is working, not because you signed something. Terms and conditions apply to the cooling-off period.

Cyber Secure — $150 per user per month
Everything in Cyber Protect, plus continuous monitoring, compliance evidence and independent testing. The right choice when a client questionnaire, an insurer or a contract starts asking for proof rather than assurances.
The step from Protect to Secure is $65 per user per month. That includes an annual penetration test we value at $15,000 — on its own, more than a five-user client's entire annual security spend.

| Essential Eight compliance framework | Audit tools included |
| Dark web monitoring | Service included |

Minimum five users. Onboarding quoted separately.
Onboarding
Every engagement starts with an onboarding project, quoted separately from the monthly fee because it scales with your size and the plans you choose. Four phases:
- Order — specifying and procuring what you need before we touch anything
- Asset onboarding — discovering, documenting and enrolling every device and account into our management platforms
- Cutover — moving you from your current provider or setup, scheduled around your trading hours
- Training — getting your team using the tools properly
That last phase is the one most providers skip, and it's why security investments quietly fail. A password manager nobody was shown how to use is a password manager nobody uses. We teach your team the tools during onboarding rather than emailing them a login and hoping.
What's charged separately
Five things sit outside the monthly fee. We'd rather say so here than have them appear on an invoice.
- Microsoft 365 licensing. Billed by Microsoft, not marked up by us. We advise on the right mix and manage the tenant — the licence cost stays where it belongs.
- Onboarding project fee. Quoted per client, as above.
- Onsite attendance. Remote support is unlimited and resolves the large majority of issues. When something genuinely needs someone on site, that visit is quoted separately.
- On-premises servers. These plans cover cloud and endpoint environments. If you run on-prem infrastructure, we'll scope it separately.
- Additional devices. Plans cover one PC per user. Extra devices are quoted as needed.
That's the complete list. Everything else — every tool, platform and licence we use to deliver the service — is in the per-user price.

Frequently asked questions
How much does managed IT cost per user in Sydney?
Managed Services is $125 per user per month, and every client adds a cyber security plan from $85 per user, so most businesses start at $210 per user per month. The optional AI add-on is a further $50 per user per month. Minimum five users apply, with no lock-in contract.
What's included in the per-user price?
Every tool we use to deliver the service is included — monitoring, ticketing, documentation, asset management, security software, backup and training platforms. There are no per-ticket charges and no hourly rates for incident response. The only items charged separately are Microsoft 365 licensing, onboarding, onsite attendance, on-prem servers and additional devices.
Is Microsoft 365 licensing included?
No, Microsoft 365 licensing is billed by Microsoft directly and not marked up by us. We advise on the right licence mix and manage the tenant, but the licence cost stays where it belongs. This keeps your licensing portable and transparent.
Is there a minimum number of users?
Yes, there is a minimum of five users. This ensures we can deliver the level of proactive monitoring, dedicated account management and rapid response times that define the service. Businesses smaller than five users are welcome to contact us to discuss alternative arrangements.
Do you charge per ticket or by the hour?
No. Unlimited remote support is included in the Managed Services plan with no per-ticket charges and no hourly rates. Incident response under the cyber security plans also carries no hourly charges. Onsite attendance, when genuinely required, is quoted separately.
Am I locked into a contract?
No, there is no lock-in contract. You can engage LOOKUP month to month and stay because the service is working, not because you signed something. For the first two months after onboarding there is a cooling-off period during which you can walk away if the service hasn't met expectations.
What is the two-month cooling-off period?
For the first two months after onboarding, you can walk away from the engagement if we haven't shown you the difference. This removes the risk from switching providers, which is the decision most businesses put off longest. Terms and conditions apply to the cooling-off period.
What's the difference between Cyber Protect and Cyber Secure?
Cyber Protect is $85 per user per month and covers the security baseline — managed antivirus, email and web filtering, firewall, MFA, backup, training and incident response. Cyber Secure is $150 per user per month and adds 24/7 SOC monitoring, Essential Eight compliance, dark web monitoring, advanced phishing simulations, an annual penetration test valued at $15,000, and vulnerability scanning.
Do I have to take a cyber security plan?
Yes, every client adds one cyber security plan — either Cyber Protect at $85 per user or Cyber Secure at $150 per user. This is because effective managed IT cannot be delivered without a strong security foundation. The cyber security plan protects the environment that managed IT relies on.
Do you support our line-of-business software?
Yes, line-of-business application support is included in the Managed Services plan. We support the software your business actually runs on, not just Microsoft products. This covers patching, updates, and coordination with your software vendors when deeper application issues arise.
What if we have an on-premises server?
These plans cover cloud and endpoint environments. If you run on-premises infrastructure, we'll scope it separately and quote accordingly. This ensures the server environment receives the dedicated attention it requires without inflating the per-user price for businesses that are fully cloud-based.
What happens if we grow or shrink?
Pricing is per user per month, so it scales automatically as your headcount changes. Adding or removing users is handled through your dedicated account manager. If you upgrade from Cyber Protect to Cyber Secure, or add the AI add-on, the change takes effect from the next billing cycle.
How does this compare to hiring someone internally?
A single internal IT employee typically costs $80,000 to $120,000 per year plus superannuation, leave and tools — and they can only be in one place at a time. At $210 per user per month for five users ($12,600 per year), you get a full team of senior Australian engineers, 24/7 monitoring, dedicated security tools, and coverage seven days a week from 8am to 9pm.
